Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

My name is Diana Foster and I am the new school counselor at Oakwood Elementary School. I must say I am thoroughly enjoying getting to know your wonderful children! They are very special!

Prior to my job as a school counselor at Oakwood, I was a school counselor at Hannibal High School for the last 6 years, a special education teacher at HHS for 15 years, and before that, I was a 3rd grade teacher in Bowling Green, Missouri.

After high school, I spent 4 years at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. In 1998, I decided I wanted to be a teacher so I went back to school at Hannibal LaGrange University and received my Bachelor of Science in Education in 2000. I then earned my Master of Arts in Counseling in 2013. My husband Jeff is a technical sales and support manager at Watlow. Between the two of us, we have four children: Josh (Shira), Sarah (Chad), Jake (Kellie), and Dustin (Amber) and we also have 7 grandchildren: Ellie, Kedzie, Leandra, Bodi, Wes, Jaxson, and Jonah! In November, our 4th grandson will be born!

As you can assume, we stay rather busy with our children and grandchildren. We are also active at The Crossing and stay busy with our business Womb with a View here in Hannibal. I love being a school counselor and look forward to getting to know each child at Oakwood!
